Terms of Service

These Terms ("Terms") are an agreement between You and OriginMind Inc. ("moonbelt", "We", "Us", "Our") governing Your use of the moonbelt mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, You agree to these Terms and Our Privacy Policy.
US residents: please read Section 13 (Arbitration) carefully. It affects Your legal rights.
1. Definitions
- Application — the moonbelt mobile app and all related features and updates.
- Service — the Application, website, and any related services offered by moonbelt.
- User Content — meal logs, photos, notes, and other content You submit through the Service.
- You — the individual using the Service.
2. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the Service, You confirm that You have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms. If You do not agree, You must stop using the Service.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. Individuals under 13 (or 16 in the EEA and UK) may not use the Service.
You should not use the Service if You are pregnant or nursing, have or are recovering from an eating disorder, or have a medical condition requiring a supervised diet — unless a physician has approved Your use.
4. Medical and Wellness Disclaimer
moonbelt is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Calorie targets, macro splits, meal suggestions, and AI coaching content are for informational and educational purposes only — not a substitute for professional medical or nutritional guidance.
Consult a physician or registered dietitian before making significant dietary changes, especially if You have a medical condition, are pregnant or nursing, or have a history of disordered eating. Results vary; moonbelt makes no guarantee of weight loss or any health outcome.
5. AI Features
moonbelt uses third-party AI to recognize food from photos, parse voice meal logs, and generate coaching responses. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete — always review estimates before relying on them. AI content is educational, not medical advice.
6. Subscriptions and Billing
Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
To cancel — iOS: Settings → [Your name] → Subscriptions → moonbelt → Cancel Subscription.
To cancel — Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & Subscriptions → moonbelt → Cancel.
Refunds are governed by Apple's and Google's policies. Contact reportaproblem.apple.com (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
7. User Content
User Content remains Yours. You grant Us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to store and process it solely to operate and improve the Service.
8. Prohibited Uses
You may not reverse engineer the Service, use it to build a competing product, scrape or automate access, upload malware or unlawful content, or circumvent subscription or authentication controls.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, excluding User Content, is owned by OriginMind Inc. and its licensors. No rights are transferred to You beyond the limited license to use the app on Your devices.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate Your access for violations of these Terms. Sections 4, 7–9, and 11–13 survive termination.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy.
12. Limitation of Liability
Our total liability for all claims is limited to the greater of (a) amounts You paid in the 12 months before the event, or (b) USD $100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data or profits.
13. Governing Law and Arbitration
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Disputes involving Canadian, EEA, or UK residents will be resolved in Ontario courts.
US residents only: Disputes will be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Class actions are not permitted. You may opt out within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing legal@moonbelt.ai with subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out."
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced through the app or by email before taking effect. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
