This Privacy Policy describes how OriginMind Inc. ("moonbelt", "We", "Us", "Our") collects, uses, and protects Your information when You use the moonbelt mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, You agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
1. Definitions
- Account — the profile created for You to access the Service.
- Health Data — information You provide about Your physical characteristics, nutrition, and goals, including weight, height, food logs, meal photos, and progress data.
- Personal Data — information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to You.
- You — the individual using the Service.
2. Data We Collect
Data You provide: name, email address, password, profile photo (optional), and Health Data including date of birth, weight, height, goals, dietary restrictions, meal logs, meal photos, voice notes, and messages to the AI coach.
Data collected automatically: device model, OS version, app version, IP address, language, time zone, crash logs, push notification token, and usage analytics (screens viewed, features used, session duration).
Data from third parties: basic profile details from Sign in with Apple or Google; daily step count from Apple HealthKit (if You grant permission); subscription status from RevenueCat.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use data to:
- Provide and personalize the Service (calculate targets, generate meal suggestions, process voice and photo logs)
- Power AI-assisted features (food recognition, coaching)
- Manage Your account and subscription
- Send push notifications and transactional emails
- Analyze usage and improve the Service
- Detect fraud and comply with legal obligations
We do not sell Your Personal Data. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Apple HealthKit
We read Your daily step count from HealthKit only. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, or data brokerage, and We do not sell it to any third party. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → moonbelt.
5. How We Share Data
We share data only with service providers needed to operate the Service — including cloud hosting (Supabase), subscription management (RevenueCat), analytics (PostHog), crash reporting (Sentry), AI processing (OpenAI, Anthropic), push notifications (Expo), and email delivery. Each provider is bound by data processing agreements.
We may also share data if required by law, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
6. Data Retention
We retain Account data while Your account is active and for 30 days after deletion. Subscription records are kept for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. Crash and diagnostic logs are retained for 90 days. Analytics data is retained for 24 months.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where You live, You may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export Your Personal Data; to withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with Your local privacy authority. To exercise any right, email privacy@moonbelt.ai or use the in-app account deletion option.
moonbelt does not sell or share Personal Data for behavioral advertising. California residents may submit CCPA requests at the same address. Canadian residents may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca with unresolved concerns.
8. Deleting Your Account
Go to Settings → Account → Delete account inside the app, or email privacy@moonbelt.ai. Deletion removes Your profile, meal logs, and weight history from active systems within 30 days.
9. Security
We use TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, hashed passwords, and least-privilege access controls. No system is entirely secure, but We continuously work to improve Our practices.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If You believe a child has provided Us with personal information, please contact Us and We will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced through the app or by email before taking effect. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
